Terms of service

The agreement between Fabula and the businesses that use it, and the people they invite.

Who we are and who these terms are for

Fabula is online booking and appointment software for salons, barbers, spas and similar businesses in the United Kingdom, provided by SETCODER LTD ("Fabula", "we"). Our company details are at the foot of every page.

These terms apply to the business that opens an account ("you") and to everyone it invites to its account. Fabula is for business use only: by opening an account you confirm you are using it for your business, not as a consumer.

Our privacy notice, data processing agreement and cookie notice form part of these terms.

Your account

Keep your login details safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what the team members you invite do there.

The owner of a business decides who has access and with which role, and can remove people at any time.

Free trial and plans

Every new business starts with a free trial; no card is needed. When the trial ends without a plan, the account becomes read-only: you can still see your calendar and customers, but nothing new can be booked until you choose a plan.

Plans are priced by the number of locations and include every feature. Current prices are on our Plans page and in Billing. Larger groups are priced individually.

Payment

Plans are paid monthly in advance by card through Stripe. Fabula never sees your card number.

If a payment fails we tell you and Stripe tries again. If it is still unpaid after 7 days, the account becomes read-only until it is paid.

We may change our prices. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you have paid for and is not renewed; we do not refund part months.

You can also close your business in Settings. Its data is then deleted after 30 days; export anything you need first.

Deposits from your customers

If you take deposits, they are paid into your own Stripe account, under Stripe's terms between you and Stripe. Fabula takes no commission; Stripe's card fees are taken from each payment.

You set your deposit and cancellation rules and are responsible for them towards your customers, including refunds Fabula makes for you when you or a customer cancel within your rules.

Messages to your customers

Fabula sends booking confirmations, changes, cancellations and reminders to your customers by email and, if you turn texts on, by text message, in your business's name.

Offers and news go only to customers who agreed to receive them, and every such message has an unsubscribe link. You must have the right to contact the customers you add yourself.

Marketing text credits you buy do not expire while your account is open, and are not refunded when unused.

Using Fabula properly

Use Fabula lawfully and only for your business's bookings. Do not send spam, upload information you have no right to use, try to get into other businesses' data, test our security without our written permission, or resell the service.

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other businesses or customers at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.

Your data

Your business's information and your customers' information remain yours. We process your customers' information only to provide Fabula to you, as set out in our data processing agreement.

You can export your customers at any time. We delete a closed business's data 30 days after it closes, except billing records we must keep for six years.

The service

We work to keep Fabula available and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance or because of a problem with a provider we rely on.

We improve Fabula all the time and may change or remove features. If a change takes away something you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we can.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for indirect loss. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will email account owners about important changes at least 30 days before they take effect; if you keep using Fabula after that, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
